Rental Terms and Conditions
Last updated: August 5, 2026
These terms apply to equipment rented from JJ Modern Events LLC. They work alongside the rental agreement or invoice for your booking. Where a specific instruction we give you for an item differs from a general statement here, follow the item-specific instruction.
Ownership
All equipment remains the property of JJ Modern Events LLC at all times. Renting equipment gives you temporary possession and use for the rental period only. You do not acquire ownership or any other interest in it. You may not sell, pledge, lend, sublease, or transfer the equipment to anyone else.
Rental period
The rental period is the period stated in your confirmed booking — from delivery or pickup until collection or return. Keeping equipment beyond that period without our agreement may result in additional charges.
Your responsibilities during the rental
While the equipment is in your possession, you are responsible for it. You agree to:
- Provide adult supervision appropriate to the equipment and to your guests
- Follow all setup, operating, safety, and shutdown instructions we provide, including any printed instruction sheet supplied with an item
- Use each item only for its intended purpose
- Keep equipment protected from water, weather, sand, and other conditions where the instructions for that item call for it
- Keep equipment secure and prevent use by anyone who is not part of your event
- Stop use immediately and contact us if an item appears damaged, unstable, or unsafe
- Keep the equipment at the address on the confirmed booking
What you may not do
- Move, relocate, or re-erect equipment we have set up
- Alter, repair, paint, mark, drill, or modify equipment
- Use equipment while impaired, or allow use that is reckless or unsafe
- Exceed any capacity, occupancy, or usage limits we give you for a specific item
- Use equipment in a way that is unlawful, or that a reasonable person would consider unsafe for the conditions
- Sublease, re-rent, or lend the equipment to anyone else
Delivery access and setup area
If your booking includes delivery or setup, you are responsible for making sure that:
- We have safe, legal, and unobstructed access to the delivery point at the agreed time
- The setup area is clear, reasonably level, and free of debris, standing water, and hazards
- Vehicles, gates, pets, and any locked access are dealt with before we arrive
- Any permits, venue approvals, HOA approvals, or utility locates required for your site are in place
- You have told us in advance about stairs, narrow gates, long carries, soft ground, overhead obstructions, or anything else that affects setup
If we cannot access the site safely or legally, or the area is not ready, we may have to alter, delay, or cancel setup, and additional charges may apply.
Customer pickup and return
If you are picking up, you are responsible for collecting and returning the equipment at the location and times in your confirmed booking, for transporting it safely and securely, and for loading and unloading it without damage. Items should be returned dry, empty, and clear of trash and food residue.
Inspection
We may inspect the equipment during the rental period at a reasonable time, and we inspect it when it is returned or collected. If we reasonably believe the equipment is being used unsafely or in breach of these terms, we may stop use and remove it.
Condition on return
Equipment must be returned in the condition it was received, allowing for ordinary wear from normal use.
Additional charges
Additional charges may apply where any of the following happens. Amounts depend on the item and the circumstances and will be explained to you:
- Damage beyond ordinary wear
- Missing equipment, parts, or accessories
- Cleaning beyond ordinary cleaning
- Late return or a rental kept beyond the agreed period
- A failed delivery, or a pickup or collection we cannot complete because the site or items were inaccessible
- Use outside what your booking and these terms allow
Responsibility and risk
You are responsible for the safe use of the equipment and for supervising your guests while it is in your possession. To the fullest extent permitted by Florida law, JJ Modern Events LLC is not responsible for injury, loss, or damage arising from use of the equipment that does not follow the instructions we provide, from unsafe conditions at your site, or from circumstances outside our reasonable control.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida.
