JJ Modern Events LLC ("JJ Modern Events," "we," "us," or "our") operates jjmodernevents.com (the "Site"). This policy explains what information we collect when you use the Site or contact us, how we use it, and who we share it with.

 

Information you give us

 

When you build a rental list and submit a rental request through our Event Details form, we collect:

 

Your name, email address, and phone number

Your event date

Whether you want delivery or customer pickup

For delivery requests: the delivery street address, city, and ZIP code, the venue name, your requested delivery date and time, and your requested pickup date and time

For customer pickup requests: your requested pickup date and time and your return date and time

The rental items you selected, quantities, and the estimated total shown on the request

Any notes you choose to add

A request reference number generated by the Site

 

If you call, text, or email us, we receive whatever information you include in that message. If you book a call through our scheduling page, the scheduling provider collects the information you enter there.

 

Information collected automatically

 

Like most websites, the Site collects some information automatically through cookies and similar technologies — for example your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit, and how you arrived at the Site. This is used to keep the Site working, keep your rental list intact between pages, guard against spam and abuse, and understand which pages people use.

 

How we use your information

 

Respond to your request and answer your questions

Check whether the equipment you asked for is available on your dates

Prepare a quote or invoice and arrange payment

Deliver, set up, collect, or hand off your rental

Contact you about your booking, including reminders and changes

Keep records for accounting, tax, and insurance purposes

Detect and prevent fraud, spam, and misuse of the Site

Comply with legal obligations and enforce our rental agreements

 

We do not sell your personal information.

 

Who we share it with

 

We share information only where it is needed to run the business:

 

Shopify, which hosts the Site, stores rental requests, and provides the store's built-in analytics

Our payment processor, which handles invoices and payments. Card details are entered with the processor, not with us — we do not store full card numbers

Our scheduling provider, if you book a call through the scheduling page on our Site

Service providers that support the Site, such as spam-prevention and font services used to display pages correctly

Anyone helping deliver, set up, or collect your rental, limited to the details they need

Legal and professional recipients — including law enforcement, courts, our accountant, or our insurer — where we are required to do so by law or need to establish or defend a legal claim

 

Cookies

 

The Site uses cookies that are necessary for it to work — for example, remembering the items in your rental list — as well as cookies that help us understand how the Site is used. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings, though blocking them may stop parts of the Site from working. Shopify publishes details of the cookies it sets at https://www.shopify.com/legal/cookies.

 

Text messages and calls

 

If you give us your phone number, we may call or text you about your rental request or booking. Standard message and data rates from your carrier may apply. You can ask us to stop texting you at any time.

 

Retention

 

We keep rental requests, booking records, and related correspondence for as long as needed to provide the rental and to meet accounting, tax, insurance, and legal record-keeping requirements.

 

Security

 

We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold. No website or method of transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please don't send sensitive information such as full card numbers by email or text.

 

Children

 

The Site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

 

Your privacy rights

 

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or ask us to stop using it for certain purposes. Florida residents and residents of other states with privacy laws may have additional rights.

 

To make a request, call or text us at 941-499-7342 or email bookings@jjmodernevents.com. We may need to confirm your identity before we act on a request, and we may need to keep some information where the law requires it. We will not treat you differently for making a request.

 

Changes

 

We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
